It started, as most good things do, with one person who cared deeply about what they were making.

After the Palace

When his years at the Palace came to an end, he opened a small village eatery of his own. What followed was simple: honest food, prepared with skill, patience, and devotion.

Today, A Promise

Three generations on, we asked ourselves what Madappa avaru always knew – a truly good idli deserves to be everywhere. Madappa Idli is that promise kept. Authentic Chiblu Idlis, steamed in organic bamboo, now for the world to devour.

The Royal Kitchen, 1952

Madappa Avaru found his calling inside the Mysuru Palace. Years of steam and stone as he kept refining his culinary skills.

Mysuru knew him by his moustache. History remembers him for the care he brought to every meal.

The Revival

The daughter remembered her father’s passion. She lit the stove again. Same batter, same chutney, with the same unhurried care. Some things are too good to let go quietly.

Meet our Chiblu Idli.
Unchanged since 1952.

Rooted in Madappa avaru's legacy, our Chiblu Idli is still made from the same recipe, the same process, and the same quiet pride that started it all.
